There is a push and pull between the micro & the macro.
Sometimes I think I focus too much on the small things and miss the big things and sometimes I think I focus too much on the big things and don’t think about the small things enough.
At work, I get frustrated with the executive leaders because they are always so focused on the big picture and focusing on where we are going that they ignore the current situation and don’t focus on the process of getting from A to B.
I think I can do both. I can be detail-oriented, but also I can look at the larger structures and see how the parts fit together. What I struggle with is the business side. I feel like you should make sure the small things work and then the large things will fall into place. However that is not how business is done in my current position.
In my current position, large changes are made and then all of the small changes are expected to just magically happen. And I guess my job is to make all of that magic happen.
