Making things happen is hard. You need to be inspired to work hard you have to have the fire lit. Michael Jordan once talked about how trash talk from an opponent would light his fire and he would use it to utterly dominate. So the question is. What lights your fire?
Does rejection? I am struggling with rejection and there are two feelings that I come right away. Some are motivation but the other is just the desire to give up and to take a break and try to find something that will make me feel better. I just want to curl up and stop working on stuff. I want to take a break and then go find something that will make me feel better. Because in my mind I’m worried that I’m not good enough and I never will be so why try?
Sigh. These are like the thoughts that come at the beginning of a workout. The passing ideas that pass through the brain like, “Maybe todays not my day”, “I’m tired” “I made it here but I don’t have to try that hard”
These are the thoughts that you have to ignore and just push through. Not give up but just keep pushing. Because the fact is that the only way to feel good about yourself and feel better is to push through. Giving up makes you feel worse. It accepts the idea that you aren’t good enough and that is a painful thing to accept. A painful thing to let yourself be.
You have to decide who you want to be and push for it. People along the way may put you down. But at the end of the day the only person that matters is you and you have to prove to yourself that you are the person that you want to be.
